Mars Mala - Rudraksha Beads with Carnelian Counter Beads

This Mars mala has rudraksha beads that are hand knotted with faceted carnelian counter beads and gold filled accents. The Guru bead drop is a larger faceted carnelian bead and there is a dark red tassel.

This is the standard 108 bead mala composed of 9 sets of 11 beads and then the counter bead. Malas are used to count prayers, japa - repetition of Holy names and mantras, and to keep track of breathing exercises in meditation.

The mala is 36" long with a hanging Guru bead and a 2" red tassel. It weighs about 4 ounces.

Carnelian is a gemstone used to strengthen the planetary influence of Mars.

Rudraksha beads have a long history of use for sacred malas in several religions. Rudraksha is a Sanskrit word associated with one of Shiva's names, Rudra.
