You too are part of all that is. Cosmic reality is expressed on earth, and also within you.
The energy of stars and planets permeates nature, people, animals, places and events. Their energy is also found in gemstones buried deep within the earth.
The influence of the stars and the planets, their positive strength as well as their negative effects, can be seen in a birth chart. This chart shows the relative positions of the heavenly bodies at the moment of our birth.
In “Autobiography of a Yogi” Sri Yukteswar, who was Paramhansa Yogananda’s guru, says that “a child is born on that day and at that hour when the celestial rays are in mathematical harmony with his individual karma.”
With the help of planets and stars the universe sets up circumstances that will allow the soul to work out its karma.
The way we act has consequences, and karma is the universal law of cause and effect. Put simply, good actions produce good karma, and bad actions produce bad karma. Every act and every thought is said to be registered in the ether.
The soul is not destroyed when we die and is eventually drawn back to earth. The soul, still carrying earthly and material desires, is reborn into a new body at a time when the stars are in “harmony with his individual karma.”
It is important to understand that the stars have no conscious benevolence or animosity. How we receive and respond to planetary influences is partly a matter of our karma but it also depends on our level of consciousness. By raising our own level of consciousness, we can learn and grow from karma rather than getting stuck in it.

Each planet has both positive and negative manifestations. We want to channel their higher expression to the best of our ability.
The planets are also expressions of God and are embodied with Divine qualities. Making an effort to receive and express their higher vibrations will move us towards the creator Himself.
The Sun in our charts, for example, expresses both the ego and the soul. Through spiritual practices our identification with the ego is gradually transformed into a sense of unity with the soul.
When we are deeply influenced by karma, it is helpful to work towards a positive expression of the planet triggering it. We want to be open to its higher reality.
