In February 2024, many planets are moving from Sagittarius to Capricorn. Capricorn is the sign in focus during the new Moon on February 8. This sign will then host six planets - the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Mars, Venus, and Pluto.
In Vedic astrology, the dates for determining the sun signs differ from Western astrology. The Sun in the sign Capricorn extends from January 14 to February 12 in Vedic astrology. Capricorn is the last of the Earth signs and the first of the winter signs (in the northern hemisphere). The ground is hard and frozen in some places as nature itself withdraws.
Capricorns are known to be dutiful and are often attentive workers. In some form or another, they like to serve so that life can flow smoothly for everyone.
When Mars enters Capricorn on February 5, he loses his beneficial relationship with Jupiter. Interestingly, Mars is exalted in Capricorn, a sign ruled by Saturn. Mars is said to be Saturn's enemy.
Mars and Saturn have a very different relationship than Mars and Jupiter. When Jupiter influences Mars (as we have experienced between December 28 and February 5), the actions are guided by wisdom and a desire for expansion. When Mars moves to Capricorn, the energy is focused, controlled, and disciplined. In Capricorn, Mars will do his duty.
We must also consider that slow-moving Pluto will be in Capricorn until 2040. Pluto has a deep influence and, while in Capricorn, reflects some of the profound changes of the Earth and governments.
Planets transiting Capricorn are no doubt also influenced by Pluto’s deep and transformative energy. Mars will transit close to Pluto on February 13 and 14. This could stimulate our personal drive for change and accomplishments. However, this energy can also be ruthless and destructive on a large scale. There is a potential for earthquakes or other disruptions in the world.
The outer planet Uranus became direct again on January 27 after retrograding for five months.

We may want to understand the truth of our underlying reality as we evolve and change. This is a time to strengthen our resolve to go deep spiritually.
