Rahu and Ketu, shadow planets known as lunar nodes, have recently changed signs. Rahu now transits Aries, and Ketu is transiting the sign of Libra.
This shift took place on April 12th, 2022 according to Mean Node.
The lunar nodes will travel counterclockwise through their new signs for 18 months.
In Vedic mythology, the lunar nodes were originally seen as one serpent. But the serpent was cut in two, and the two halves became separated from one another.
Rahu, the North Node of the Moon, is represented by the head of the serpent. Rahu’s energy is therefore intellectual and oriented towards thinking.
Ketu, the South Node of the Moon, is the tail that was separated and cut off from the serpent. Ketu’s energy is instinctive, subtle, intuitive and quick. His element is fire.
So, what can we expect with Rahu in Aries?
Aries is the first sign of the zodiac and when Rahu transits Aries he expresses an intense desire for independence.
The symbol for Aries is a Ram. A Ram will fight fiercely as he defends his territory against intruders. Aries is a sign of assertiveness and Rahu in Aries wants a fresh start in life.
This love of independence and freedom is accentuated by the outer planet Uranus, who is also transiting Aries at this time. Uranus wants freedom to express uniqueness and individuality. Uranus and Rahu can both be rebellious, turbulent and unpredictable.
When Mars also joins the planets in Aries between June 26th and August 10th, the energy is likely to become more combative. Mars is the ruler of Aries. On August 1st the three planets (Mars, Uranus and Rahu) will be in a planetary war, because they line up on the same degree: 24 degrees Aries. This is a day to be on the alert: Mars is fiery, Rahu is volatile, and Uranus can act suddenly and unpredictably.
Rahu in Aries wants to advance into new territory. Both Rahu as well as Aries rule the head, and Rahu in Aries is able to express new and unconventional ways of thinking. Rahu with Uranus in Aries is capable of making scientific progress and we will likely discover that we are at the cutting edge of new technology.
Rahu will stay in Aries until November 28th, 2023.
Ketu can bring sudden change, transformation and reorganization. Chaos can follow in the wake of change. Ketu represents separation and non-attachment.
Ketu also represents renunciation of the world and spiritual liberation. A person with a strong Ketu has inner, intuitive knowledge and looks beyond the material world.
Libra is a sign of relationships, balance and justice.
Saturn aspects Ketu from Capricorn during most of 2022, except for a short period between April 28 and June 12th. This aspect from Saturn emphasizes a more difficult side of Ketu.
Ketu can manifest sudden chaos. We have witnessed a large number of separations and loss for couples and families in Ukraine due to war. Ketu also represents a wanderer, a person without a home.
While Ketu transits Libra, relationships are put to the test. Even old, long-term relationships will be tried and go through changes. During Ketu’s influence some may also lose a partner or friend.
On the other hand, relationships that are formed under Ketu’s influence can have very deep connections. Ketu sometimes brings relationships that are anchored in spiritual and idealistic values. Groups and relationships that are based on deep, similar values and ideals are especially important now.
Ketu in Libra is a call to spiritualize our relationships and to go beyond the present. Ketu’s energy expresses the eternal and we need to look beyond this moment in time and keep a bigger perspective.
Ketu stays in Libra until November 28th, 2023.
Rahu and Ketu are shadow planets that have the power to eclipse the Sun and the Moon.
Eclipses can bring about major events, changes and can reveal new things to us.
Eclipses affect us globally but can also affect us individually, especially if the eclipse falls on our Sun, Moon or our Ascendant.
There will be four eclipses in 2022: two partial solar eclipses and two lunar eclipses.
The first eclipse this year takes place on April 30th in Aries. It is a partial solar eclipse visible from southern South America, parts of Antarctica, and over the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
There will be four eclipses in 2023.
The Great American Solar Eclipse in October is visible in America. This annular eclipse is the second of three notable solar eclipses viewable from the US. It follows the US total eclipse of August 2017, and comes six months before the Mexico-US-Canada total eclipse of April 2024.
Blessings,
Lina
November 2024 is, not unexpectedly, a very intense month. We will see that Mars in Cancer is a major contributor to the drama.
